The Issue
The Children's Advocacy Center currently operates at 304 NW D St., which is a small building that they share with another agency. The building is not conducive to providing the trauma-informed care that child victims deserve, thus the reason for the new building.
The Goal
The new building will be over 4300 sq. ft., and will include two forensic interview rooms, and two forensic medical exam room, therapy room, and observation room (for law enforcement and DHS case-workers to view the interviews). This will allow our whole team to be under one roof. This strategy reduces the trauma to the child by limiting the amount of places they need to be seen down to just one.
The Need
Construction has started!!!
Our new center is currently being built on the lot at 700 NW 5th St.. We have secured most of the funding required for the project, but we are not quite there yet. FOJCCAC is currently fundraising on behalf of the Children’s Advocacy Center. We are in need of funds to furnish the new building, as well as on-going operating funds for the CAC.
